Enterprise AI application provider demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety in honor of World Day for Safety and Health at Work
Aicadium, a Singapore-based provider of AI-driven computer vision enterprise applications, today announced they are partnering with ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR), an initiative that aims to improve the lives of migrant workers in Singapore, to provide safety shoes for migrant workers. In honour of World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April, Aicadium will donate up to 100 pairs of safety shoes to migrant workers living and working in Singapore.
Why Safety Shoes are Important
According to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Singapore, there were over 3.4 million workers in Singapore as of 2021, with the construction and manufacturing sectors being the most hazardous industries. As a result, workplace accidents and injuries have increased, with over 22,186 workplace injuries and 37 fatalities reported in 2021 alone1.One way to help ensure workplace safety is through proper PPE, including safety shoes. Between 5 April and 30 June, 2023, Aicadium will donate one pair of safety shoes for each person who shares a statement explaining why safety in the workplace is important to them.
Honouring World Day for Safety and Health at Work
World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated annually on 28 April to promote the global prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. It is a public awareness campaign that seeks to bring attention to the severity of the issue and how encouraging and cultivating a safe and healthy culture can lower the number of work-related fatalities and injuries. Aicadium is launching its partnership with IRR to donate safety shoes in April to honour this important initiative.
Partnering with IRR
Aicadium wants to create awareness regarding workers’ safety and what it takes to keep workers safe, which includes PPE and other supplies not easily accessible to all. Aicadium works with IRR, a charity in Singapore that aims to make migrant workers feel valued, appreciated, safe, and welcomed, providing PPE where needed most. IRR receives numerous requests for safety shoes from migrant workers, which can cost several days’ wages. IRR currently supplies workers with the needed safety shoes at no cost, and using the hashtag #aicadiumcares, Aicadium will cover the cost of up to 100 pairs of these much-needed shoes.
How to Participate
Participation in Aicadium’s donation campaign is open to all who care about workplace safety. Aicadium will donate one pair of safety shoes for each person who fills out a form telling us why workplace safety is important to them. Aicadium completely covers the cost of the shoes, and there is no cost for individuals who would like to participate.
