This baseline becomes the foundation for everything else: your roadmap prioritisation, your investment decisions, governance frameworks, change management approach, and success metrics.

More importantly, it becomes a repeatable mechanism for tracking maturity over time. Quarterly or semi-annual check-ins enable you to assess whether your investments are actually closing gaps, whether new bottlenecks are emerging, and whether you’re on track to achieve your strategic objectives.
